While a classic white kitchen will never go out of style, homeowners and designers alike are embracing the melding of two distinct shades. Whether you choose to go for a vibrant pop of color or keep things classically neutral in your space, this roundup of two-toned kitchens by scouted designers is sure to offer boundless inspiration. The above-shown kitchen design takes its inspiration from Park City- the Wild West! Note the rawhide chairs, laced with rawhide string to give it that Prairie vibe. Where are the Palominos and leather saddles? And, of course, the string of wooden beads draped over each seat adds a sense of humor? Don't you think!
Here we are in New Jersey with navy blue pediments added to the center island. Note the use of flooring on the ceiling! Matching the flooring!
Another way to relieve the white. Loving it!
And here's another great idea! The classic banquette!
Don't you just love this basket weave flooring?
Or backsplash!?
Another twist on black and white. Classic.
Blue always compliments the clean starkness of white.
Teal Blue works too!
A touch of gray goes a long way, too!
Here is an example of black steel windows used (see my previous blog: Black Steel Windows: Pros and Cons) This certainly makes a dramatic impact but think carefully if you might plan to cover the windows, at some point.
Sometimes all you need to do is change the vent cover- for more warmth in the kitchen. Note the use of the warmer wood.
Color added to the lower cabinetry gives this kitchen an anchor.
So whatever your mood is- there is always something that can be added or changed. Need more help or advice? Please call me for advice and help to make your home more salable before your listing!
