Simplicity Personified
Aimed at offering simple solutions to the challenges of everyday living Scandinavian designs turned the American home into an opportunity to create functional easy-to-maintain spaces, clutter-free, while workspace designs straddle the delicate line between comfort and pragmatism. Good design can be intuitive, necessary, and all-encompassing.
Quoting an American Pioneer of modernism;
“Total design is nothing more or less than a process of relating everything to everything…”
Scandinavian design principles emphasize minimalism with architecture that blends with its natural surroundings, effortlessly. The appeal of the Scandinavian design reflects warm modernism with a natural human feeling.
“…the intersection where form meets function…thoughtful and chic…”
Now here’s a piece that was ahead of its time. Inspired by the metal frame of a bicycle, Marcel Breuer schemed up this iconic chair when he was an apprentice at the Brauhaus. Breuer originally designed the Wassily chair in 1925—years before the mid-century movement started—but it has since become the epitome of sleek, modern design. As for the name? Breuer originally designed the chair for himself but made one for his classmate, painter Wassily Kandinsky, rereleased in 1960.
One of many examples of how Modern Design can fit into any room, effortlessly, and remain fresh and new.
