Are you ready to take a step away from safe, neutral paint colors? Something that might deliver the WOW! factor? But still, being classical and contemporary at the same time? Here are some up-to-the-minute suggestions from a variety of interior designers:
Picture on the blog cover- Ballet Slippers- the perfect blush color without coming off as seeming too sweet. It has depth to it that combines well with rich tones and the seasoned woods you find in vintage furniture.
French Lilac- I have seen this color used coupled with white with black accents at a Mansion in May showcase, and it is a striking combination. Here it is paired with star wallpaper on the ceiling and lilac on the fabric. You could use this on cabinets in the laundry room for added interest.
Sapphire Ice is the perfect blue. It's fresh, bright, and actually quite neutral when you pair it with blue and white fabrics and wallcoverings. It's in between Periwinkle and Robin's egg blue. Use it on the exterior of your home such as shutters or a door, interior trim, ceilings, and interior doors in high gloss, or a kitchen island for contrast. Blue is a perfect classical neutral.
Cedar Green- Green is a versatile color easily used everywhere from a child's bedroom to a guest bath. It looks great with brass pulls and knobs, too! also, Fruit Shake, on the walls has a bit of tropical punch, that coordinates beautifully with white and greens.
Labradorite is a smoky blue you will love, with soft, cool undertones that are a timeless color you can use in any room. Use it for exteriors, doors, or cabinets shown here. Great in the mudroom or office. Also, it's great for millwork lacquered or ceilings.
Retreat- A calming, peaceful mid-toned green color that can shift in color depending on the lighting. Use it on walls, and cabinets, the paint color brings the outdoors in with practicality and style. Gorgeous!
Basil Green- Here's a fun color for a boy's room that elevates the trim work making it a show-stopping feature. Pair it with a soft Picture Perfect blue on the walls. Cool!
Yellow- (No, I didn't forget!) Sunny, happy yellow cabinets in the back hall mudroom give it a cheery first sight! Bold and happy, who wouldn't be glad to be greeted like this? (choose a blue and white contrasting wall cover and door shade to set off this bold look!)
Did we forget anything? To be daring means to take chances! These colors will reward you each day and show off your individuality.
